ABOUT

BIO
Ricky Middlesworth is known for his unique blend of dark imagination and commercial execution. As a self-described production artist, his images combine ominous environments with emotional storytelling. With excitement and class, his photography reinvents familiar personas through iconic portraits. He brings an element of fleeting fantasy, dramatic movement, and provocative (yet timeless) styling.

Exposing himself early to the industry's A-list, Ricky began his career assisting top photo and art direction giants. After winning grand prizes for his own work with NASA and Smashbox Studios, Ricky shot key advertising artwork for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Underworld Awakening, a poster for Joseph Kahn’s horror film Detention, MTV, Cartoon Network, and several fashion editorials. He recently appeared as a featured photographer on America's Next Top Model All Stars.

Ricky grew up just outside Phoenix, Arizona. He spent his early years studying the heroes and villains in comic books, the cinematic work of music video veteran Francis Lawrence, 17th century painters, and the art of body language. He came to Los Angeles in 2007 to learn the business of photographing public and entertainment figures. He now works as an industry leader-on-the-rise. He enjoys cartoons, hiking, and frequently stops to smell the roses.
